One good thing about having a cold, is towards the end of it, when the fever and chills are gone and you are just kinda feeling BLAH, but need to do something or you will go INSANE....you can stitch!
I started my Jubilee quilt!

I was able to stitch the center hexagon and then the surrounding 6 hexagons for the center of the quilt.
And this is what the center of the quilt looks like :) As I make more hexagons I will stitch them to this "start" and the quilt will "grow" :)
I did stitch the hexagons a little bit different than the pattern suggested (pattern info is on the linked post) and some of the stitchery patterns are my own design and others are designed by Barri Sue Gaudet from Bareroots.
I will be using the "The Tree of Life" pattern stitchery designs for most of the rest of the quilt.
I added batting to each hexagon and found that this quilt pattern is another that uses the quilt as you go method, and for a person like me with fibromyalgia it is a blessing, as I don't need to handle a large quilt in order to quilt it.
I also love to hand-stitch, so this quilt is certainly "my cup of tea" :)
I understand that some quilts were made years ago using this method and they were called "potholder" quilts. Here is a link for a little bit of info about these quilts by Pamela Weeks, that I found interesting.

Hi Tammy! I thought you stopped blogging and just found out from a blogger's blog list that you are still blogging. How are you? How is that sweet little granddaughter? And your son? And your kitties?
I LOVE this project! I love that you are making hexies that are quilted and ready to be sewn together. I need to remember this and try it. I am on a UFO attack this year trying to get as much done as possible. My UFOs are just too on top of me.
So glad to see you back so I can once again admire your beautiful work.

Tammy, your hexagons are fabulous. Is there a pattern source or a tutorial somewhere???
I just discovered your blog and it is amazing. I have a question... The hexagon quilt you are making looks wonderful. I am wondering where I can find the pattern? It is interesting that it is also quilted as you go.
The quilt is beautiful and I will look forward to watching progress.
