Thursday night we had a nasty thunderstorm come through here in PA.
It was dark and the power was out, what we heard (we couldn't see anything but vivid lightening) was very frightening and yes the wind sounded exactly like a train.
This is what we saw once it became daylight.....
I have taken 39 pictures each with a different fallen tree here in our neck of the woods...I just posted a few of the pictures.
Our power was out for about 16 hours, and why it is on now, while these trees are still resting on the power lines is beyond me.
Hubby and friends spent most of today and yesterday cleaning up some of the fallen trees.
We are waiting for the power company to arrive so the trees can be safely cleared from the wires that are blocking our road/driveway.
I think we will have a long wait but I don't mind, we are all safe and our home was not damaged, certainly a miracle and we are thankful.
Happy Memorial Day everyone,
Tam

We were without power for about 17 hours too. Didn't know why and when power & light came it was a tree that fell in our yard. Quite a storm. My mom slept through it all. Glad you are safe and sound in the woods.
Yikes! that's a lot of downed trees.
Love your new header picture!
Happy Memorial Day!
Storms have been absolutely crazy this year with so much loss of life. Thankful you are all ok.
Glad to hear all is well. I know the lights were still out in Barryville last night. Masthope was hit also and they say "tail end of a tornado" but news doesn't cover our neck of the woods to confirm or deny that.
Thank God you are safe! The storms you have had in the US are so bad this year. We have had almost two weeks of high winds here. It is far too dry in a country where it rains so much. There is fear some dikes could shift as they are drying out and becoming too light. I think we have really messed up this earth and need to get a handle on things before it is too late.

Good thing those trees didn't fall on the house! Yikes!
Wow Tammy! What a worry that must have been!! Thank goodness you all, and your home, were untouched...
I seem to have missed a lot with my computer being out! Sheesh!
