Bloggers Quilt Festival

Amy from Park City Girl Blog is hosting a bloggers Quilt Festival, thank you Amy!
What a fun and great opportunity to get to know fellow quilt bloggers! :D
Be sure to stop by Amy's wonderful blog, you will find links to other Festival participates and their blogs over there.

This is my quilt I have decided to show in the Festival.

This quilt was made as a shop sample for a club I was coordinating/teaching at a local quilt shop, a few years ago.
The club was called "Circle of Friends" from Pat Sloan and the pattern is "Friends on Chelsea Lane".
I pieced the quilt by machine and all the applique is done by hand (needle-turn method) I then machine quilted it with my Bernina in what I like to call a "wonky" method :D....I just let the shapes on the quilt tell me how they wanted to be quilted...."wonky"!
The machine quilting was lots of fun...no rules, no straight lines, no markings to follow, just free motion quilting to the beat of some great classic rock music.
I love this quilt, it has so many fond memories stitched in it of the friends I made and got to know during the year long club. I also love the words stitched on this quilt and think they are great words to live by. This quilt will hang in a special place in my new sewing studio and you might have also noticed it's "hanging" around my blog header.
Enjoy the Quilt Festival!

Best wishes and stitches everyone!

Recently found your blog, so fun here and enjoy the music. I really like your quilt! Went to Pat's store but the pattern is not for sale there. Was it a free sew-along pattern?
